Perinatal Mental Health Therapy

In-person or virtual therapy for individuals within the State of Delaware

There can be a lot of pressure to feel happy, grateful, or connected during pregnancy and after having a baby.

The reality can be much more complicated.

You may love your baby and still feel overwhelmed. You may feel grateful and still experience sadness. You may have wanted this pregnancy and still struggle with anxiety. You may have had a birth experience that was difficult, frightening, or different from what you had hoped for.

There is room for all of these experiences.

Therapy can provide a place where you do not have to minimize what you are feeling or compare your experience to someone else's.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

How we support you:

  • A trauma-informed, relational approach that recognizes the profound changes pregnancy, birth, loss, and parenthood can bring to a person's sense of safety, identity, body, relationships, and connection with themselves.

  • We focus on creating a space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels appropriate for you, with attention to safety, choice, consent, and collaboration.

  • We honor that your experience of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood is uniquely yours.

  • For some, these experiences may bring up previous trauma, medical experiences, relationship wounds, or feelings of powerlessness or disconnection. For others, the transition itself may bring unexpected emotions or challenges. We allow space for all emotions and experiences.

“Like new growth, healing unfolds in its own time—with patience, support, and gentle care.”
